The Suns will host a home game each season for the next four years under the deal with next year’s opponent to be determined later this month when the AFL releases their fixture for 2020.
The agreement, which sees Melbourne extend their agreement to host a game in Alice Springs for four years, will also see the Suns hosting talent academy camps in Darwin to identify local players for their AFLW squad, which has six places reserved for NT talent.
Both clubs will help promote the Territory through their networks encouraging supporters to visit the NT.
Four of Gold Coast’s six AFLW NT allocated positions have already been filled by former Crows Jasmyn Hewett, Sally Riley and Tayla Thorn and former Dee Jordann Hickey.
The Dees’ AFLW team will continue to host a game in Alice Springs under the agreement.
