Geelong has done it again in Thursday night’s qualifying final, while it’s a familiar September feeling for Port Adelaide fans.

After a difficult stretch midway through the season, Ken Hinkley and the Power looked to have righted the ship and were determined to change their finals narrative.

Instead, the Cats held control for almost the entire match, strolling to a 20.18 (138) to 7.12 (54) victory that sends Chris Scott’s men through to a home preliminary final.

It’s back to the drawing board yet again for Hinkley, however, who has now slipped to a 4-9 finals record and needs to back up against either Hawthorn or the Bulldogs in a cutthroat semi-final next week.
