The Gold Coast Suns have promised to play “our way” in their bid to cause a QClash boilover at the Gabba on Saturday night.

The Suns haven’t beaten Brisbane since round 5 of the 2018 AFL season, with the Lions having won their past eight matches against the Gold Coast.

A ninth straight win over the Suns this weekend would also secure the in-form Lions – who haven’t lost to any opponent since March 30 – an eighth victory this season.

However, the Suns are in a good patch of form, having won three of their past four games, including a 70-point demolition of the West Coast Eagles in Perth last Friday night.

“We all know what we need to do (to beat Brisbane),” Suns star Charlie Ballard said.

“We just need to play our way because that matches up against anyone, as you’ve seen probably in the last month with a really good brand of footy.

“We’re just getting our momentum flowing and we’ll just keep going.”

Lions veteran Dayne Zorko has been impressed with the Suns’ recent form.

“There’s a lot of belief in that group at the moment, as there should be,” the former Brisbane skipper told SEN’s Breakfast with Pat and Heals radio show.

“They’re playing some fantastic football. They went over to the west on a six-day break and were clinical over there.”

Zorko said his hamstring felt good after his comeback from injury in the Lions’ 42-point weekend win over Essendon at the Gabba.

“I was a little bit nervous heading into the game as expected, but those nerves were quickly put to bed about 15 minutes in, and I knew I’d be sweet,” he said.
