Code Sports AFL Brownlow Medal Predictor for 2025

Will 2025 be the year Nick Daicos wins his inevitable first Brownlow? With eight rounds to go, see the leaders from your club and every vote from every game so far in our predictor here.

Is it going to be Nick’s year?

In 2023, Daicos led the count with three rounds to go, but missed the final few matches with injury which ultimately cost him a Brownlow in his second season.

In 2024, he broke the previous record for the most votes under the 3-2-1 system. Only problem was, so did Patrick Cripps — and the Carlton captain pipped him by seven votes on the night.

This year, it seems to be his medal to lose in the run home.

Daicos leads our 2025 Brownlow Predictor by four votes with eight rounds left of the home-and-away season.

Can he hang on, or will the gun Magpie miss out again?

THE CHALLENGERS

The standout five in this year’s Brownlow Predictor so far would all be first-time winners should they take ‘Charlie’ home.

Four votes behind Daicos in second spot is Geelong’s star recruit Bailey Smith.

Sporting a thick white headband and long blonde locks, the umpires won’t have a hard time taking notice of Smith — especially when he is racking up 32 disposals a game.

What could cost the gun Cat is the two weeks he has missed through injury so far this year — one game in round 2 with a calf and one in round 13 with a hamstring.

But Geelong’s easy run home bodes in his favour, including two matches against Richmond where Smith can run riot.

Adelaide skipper Jordan Dawson is one of three players in equal-third spot on 20 votes alongside Fremantle’s Caleb Serong and Gold Coast captain Noah Anderson.

While Serong faces competition from teammate Andrew Brayshaw (14 votes) and Anderson contends with Matt Rowell (13 votes), Dawson is the clear standout at the Crows which is part of the reason why many see him as a genuine medal threat.

CLUB BY CLUB

Aside from the main event, the club counts are always of interest come Brownlow night.

Last year’s winner Patrick Cripps is in a dogfight with Tom De Koning and George Hewett to lead Carlton’s count.

It won’t quite be the 45-vote season we saw in 2024 for the Blues champion — our Brownlow Predictor has him on nine votes so far.

Essendon’s leaderboard is an intriguing one with Nic Martin and Zach Merrett going toe-to-toe on 14 votes each.

Merrett started brilliantly with three best-on-ground performances in his opening four games, but Martin has managed to reel his skipper in.

At the Power, Zak Butters is making up ground on Connor Rozee after missing the opening three games with a knee issue.
