AFL ‘shot itself in the foot’ with AFLW conferences

The AFLW didn’t need a conference system and yet here we are. After the best season the competition has seen by a mile, fans aren’t frustrated at the lack of scoring, they’re frustrated you can score all you want and still not play finals.

Do or die for Lions in AFLW showdown

The Brisbane Lions believe if they can replicate the effort from last week’s tough loss to Carlton for the final home-and-away match they will make a third straight AFLW finals appearance.

Five-win Roos knocked out of finals

North Melbourne won two more games than the top team in Conference B but has missed out the finals after an inspired Fremantle stormed to its first AFLW premiership campaign.

Demons coach calls for conference review

Melbourne coach Mick Stinear wants more games next season and says it will be hard to explain the fact the best four teams won’t play finals under the controversial new conference system.
