The Brisbane Lions AFLW side has kicked on to the top of the ladder.
Now they’re sharing the love with their fans, with free entry to the game against Essendon at Burpengary north of Brisbane this weekend.
The game will be one of five played at home this season.
The team are excited to return to their 2019 home venue, Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex, saying it is a great opportunity to connect with the community.
The Lions are sitting comfortably on top of the AFLW ladder after five rounds and are hoping to add a fourth Grand Final appearance to their achievements this season.
Lions player Shannon Campbell said the team was just taking it week by week at the moment in order to get to the finals.
“Coming off a loss last weekend, we are just trying to get into a good headspace and play a good game,” she said.
Campbell said playing at Burpengary would hopefully allow both Sunshine Coast and Brisbane fans to come watch the game.
The AFLW Lions can usually get more than 5000 fans to a game so hopes are high that the 8000-capacity venue will be close to full.
The game kicks off at 12.10pm on Sunday.
