AFL superstar Christian Petracca and partner Bella Beischer have shared stunning photos from the special moment they got engaged.
Petracca announced their news in social media posts shared on Sunday and said on Monday his proposal took months of planning before he finally popped the question in the idyllic, romantic destination of Bellagio in Lake Como.
“Well I had to do it in the motherland, in Lake Como in Italy — one of the most beautiful places on earth,’’ he told KIIS FM’s Jase & Lauren on Monday.
“I organised it about a couple of months ago. I did it at Villa del Balbianello, which is a famous villa in Italy.
“It was really funny actually. We haven’t dressed up the whole trip and then I told Bella to dress up just for this tour, so I think she sort of knew it was coming to be honest... I think she wanted me to make her dress up for it.”

He celebrated by sharing his news on Instagram with one photo showing a close-up of the emerald cut diamond engagement ring. He captioned the post with two emojis of a ring and a love heart.
He said in the radio interview he may have given his secret away in the days leading up to the moment.
“I just hid the ring in my shoe to be honest, then when I went on the tour, I put it in my back pocket,’’ he said.
“She had a fair understanding (the engagement was coming) because I was bloody nervous for a couple of days, I was biting my nails and tapping my leg when we were out for dinner and she’s like ‘what are you doing?’
“And I was like nah not much, just nervous about footy in the middle of off-season in Lake Como.”
The couple have been dating since January, 2020.
It is the second time in recent months where the genetically-blessed pairing have wowed fans with dazzling photos.
They were also turning heads on the Brownlow Medal red carpet where she was seen stealing the 26-year-old’s thunder with a bold white dress.
