THE former partner of Bulldogs star Jake Stringer has made explosive accusations against the star forward in a bombshell interview where she revealed the ugly circumstances behind their messy split.

Celebrity mum blogger Abby Gilmore has told The Herald Sun of the day her life “crumbled” when she received a shocking text message from a 17-year-old girl claiming to be in a sexual relationship with her ex-fiance.

It was the day her “perfect life” was turned on its head.

Gilmore and Stringer split in August, 2016, but the popular former footy WAG says she is speaking out about her ordeal now to boost her sense of self respect and to be a positive example for other women dealing with similar situations.

She is now trying to create the best life she can for their two children — Arlo, 1, and Milla, 3.

The 24-year-old, who this year signed up as an ambassador for women’s mental health charity Liptember, went into painful detail about her separation from Stringer.

She said she was hanging around a gym with one of Stringer’s best friends at the Bulldogs, star defender Jason Johannisen, when she received the text that has turned her life on its head.

She said the texts she would later receive from the same girl and from others included naked photos of her former partner along with claims Stringer had been cheating for four months.

“Jake had gone out to get lunch and I was just chilling with JJ when I got this message and just went pale. I showed Jason,” Gilmore told The Herald Sun.

“We both had no idea.”

She said the texts she received from the 17-year-old girl claimed Stringer and the girl had been in a sexual relationship for four months with the full knowledge of the girl’s parents, who were Western Bulldogs supporters.

“When I confronted him, Jake said, ‘I’m so sorry I love you’,” she said.

“I said ‘Fine, I have a six-week-old what can I do?’. I was embarrassed.

“We all constantly scroll through other people’s perfect lives on social media. I thought I had that perfect life and so was ashamed when it all came crumbling down.”

Among the many explosive accusations Gilmore makes in the interview is a claim she was exiled by the Western Bulldogs as she went through the messy separation with Stringer leading up to and after their famous 2016 AFL premiership.

She says many players supported her, but she was left to feel like an outcast by the football club until the news of her separation from Stringer finally broke in February this year.

“When it all blew up I was turned away from the club. I couldn’t believe it, the senior people just didn’t want to hear me out,” she said.

“But the Bulldogs players showed they cared. I’m proud of them for that. They were disgusted by his behaviour, doing that to me when I was pregnant. They let him know it.”

She also reveals Stringer has been battling issues surrounding gambling, claiming the 23-year-old footballer suffers from a gambling addiction.

AFL players are banned from betting on any form of AFL, but Gilmore claims Stringer’s gambling losses exceeded $100,000 before their separation.

She says her former partner did not get the help he needed at the Western Bulldogs.

“The environment at a football club is concerning. Everything around footy is dictated on betting,” she said.

“How do you stop something when all you are surrounded by is gambling?

“It’s still such a man’s world. I wish he could have walked in and said, ‘Guys, I have a massive gambling addiction, can you help me?’. But he would never do that, no way, he would say it was too embarrassing.”

The news comes at a critical moment in Stringer’s future with the outcast star reportedly set to inform his suitors on grand final day which club he will seek a trade to during the 2017 AFL trade period.

It follows reports the Bulldogs want to move him on as a result of his falling out with coach Luke Beveridge.

Stringer is reportedly set to decide on Saturday if he wants to be traded to Geelong or Essendon.

Gilmore’s revelations may put this trade move in jeopardy.

According to reports, the Bulldogs were seeking a first-round draft pick in exchange for releasing Stringer while still under contract at the club.

Essendon has greater bargaining power to get a trade done with the Bulldogs because the Bombers still have their first round pick for the 2017 AFL Draft, while Geelong doesn’t have a pick on draft night until the second round.

However, with Gilmore’s revelations on Saturday portraying her former partner as a risky recruitment target, the Bulldogs may have to lower their asking price to get a deal done.

The latest revelations could also potentially weaken the cards Stringer has to play at the negotiating table when it comes to agreeing on his salary with his next football club.
