Darwin agent Adam Hayes up for national real estate award

A leading Territory real estate agent is in the running to be crowned Australia’s best residential seller at the 2021 REIA National Awards for Excellence, which will be held in Darwin next week.

A LEADING Territory real estate agent is in the running to be crowned Australia’s best residential seller at the 2021 Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) National Awards for Excellence, which will be held in Darwin next week.

Call2View chief executive and sales director Adam Hayes is one of just four finalists for the prestigious residential salesperson of the year award.

Mr Hayes said it was “very humbling” to be up for the national title.

“I am up against some very tough competition so I am not sure how I will fare, (but) hopefully I will have the home ground advantage,” he said

“(To be a good salesperson) I think you just have to be yourself, no gimmicks, just be honest and professional and deliver a high level of communication and customer service.”

Mr Hayes said the past year, in which the Darwin real estate market has undergone massive growth, had been “a very interesting time” to be an agent.

“We have seen a big switch from a buyer’s market to a seller’s market,” he said.

“It has been a relief to see prices strengthen – a lot of equity was lost in the downturn so homeowners now are able to see light at the end of the tunnel.

“In this busy market, the life of an agent entails long hours every day and phone calls all weekend.”

The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, June 10 at the Mindil Beach Casino Resort.
