Rich-lister Eddie Hirsch and his business partner have unveiled plans for a $240m high-rise in the heart of Broadbeach as the prolific developer ramps up his Gold Coast position.
The United Petroleum co-founder and partner Daniel Faigen want to build Marbella, a 31-storey residential complex on a 1100sq m site on Surf Pde.
Their company, Hirsch and Faigen, lodged a development application with Gold Coast City Council this week.
Hirsch and Faigen chief financial officer Anthony Bueti said Marbella would have 100 units and be aimed at both downsizers and investors.
Mr Bueti said construction would begin before Christmas if green-lit by the council.
“With the likes of Mosaic and Abedian and Co also launching projects in the area, the transformation will cement Broadbeach as the premier lifestyle and amenity suburb on the Gold Coast,” he said.
“After four years in the Gold Coast market, and with three successful projects completed, Marbella is the product of everything we have learned to love about the Gold Coast and it will be an incredible addition to our growing portfolio in one of the most vibrant property markets in the country.
“We continue to remain very confident in the high-end Gold Coast property market.”
The site is currently occupied by a pair of ageing two-storey unit blocks which will be demolished to make way for the tower, which is the company’s first in Broadbeach.
Its previous projects Hemmingway, Yves and Emerson were built in Palm Beach, Mermaid Beach and Kirra respectively.
It comes just weeks after Mr Hirsch put his four-bedroom townhouse in Main Beach on the market, more than 12 years after buying it.
