Students across the Territory are ditching the books as the September school holidays kick off.
The end-of-term break starts on September 21 with students set to return to class on October 8.
People, Sport and Culture Department chief executive Samantha Livesley said hundreds of activities – such as dance workshop, pop-up petting zoos, and painting classes – were on offer throughout the mid-year break.
Ms Livesley said the NT government provided more than $125,000 to more than 30 local youth, sports and community organisations through the 2024-25 Youth Vibe Holiday Grants in order to keep the holiday program alive.
“School holidays are a time when parents and carers are looking for ways to keep the kids entertained and young people want to do their favourite activity or try something new,” she said.
“We’ve created a diverse program which we’re confident offers a fun selection of activities for kids of all ages and interests, right across the Territory.”
Ms Livesley said most activities were free, but some came with a small cost.
