‘As many as possible’: Teachers needed in Australia to ease shortages

The top 20 NT primary schools have been named, with government schools taking out four of the top five.

The data was compiled by Better Education, an Australian website that describes its aim as providing “comprehensive and valuable resources to assist parents in making informed decisions about their children’s education.”.

Better Education’s 2024 analysis ranked Haileybury Rendall School and Alice Springs School of the Air in equal first place.

Coming in third, fourth and fifth were government schools: Nightcliff Primary School, Larrakeyah Primary School and Katherine School of the Air.

The state overall score is an index of performance, not a ranking, the best score is 100 and the worst is 60.

Schools with the same score are measured by Better Education on academic results to provide overall placings in the state/territory.

Haileybury’s top spot comes after recent success with NAPLAN.
