Jennifer Lopez’s former staffer breaks silence on her time with Diddy

Jennifer Lopez’s former staffer has revealed what it was like working for the singer while she dated accused sex trafficker Sean “Diddy” Combs.

‘Wouldn't be associating with these people’: JLo’s appearance at Kamala rally under fire

A Jennifer Lopez insider has given a fascinating insight into the hitmaker’s time dating disgraced rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The Daily Mail reports Thea de Sousa, who worked for Lopez at the time she was dating Combs from 1999 to 2001, spoke out about the relationship on Instagram Threads.

“If you knew Jennifer Lopez, if you ever worked with her like I did, or if you were close with people who are like family to her like I am, you would know she did not have any idea about Diddy,” Ms de Sousa posted.

“She barely drinks, she is not a partier, she isn’t a good time girl, she is a workaholic who uplifts woman and who was charmed by him for a brief time in her life.”

Ms de Sousa said she felt compelled to defend her former boss.

“(She) does not deserve to be conflated with (Diddy’s) shocking and criminal misdeeds,” Ms de Sousa finished.

The revelations come as Kamala Harris was criticised for her association with Lopez and other A-listers with connections to Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs.

Social media and American voters have been venting their fury for weeks at Ms Harris for her links to the rapper through entertainment giants, including Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Leonardo DiCaprio and Usher, who have fiercely supported her in the election campaign.

Each has also made headlines for their friendship with disgraced musician, P Diddy.

Even the Vice President herself has come under fire as an old tweet in which she thanked now-disgraced rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs for hosting a fundraiser for her first presidential campaign resurfaced after his arrest on sex crime charges.

Her message was sent during her previous run for the White House after Diddy hosted a town hall on racial inequality for her campaign. “Thank you,@Diddy, for hosting this town hall last night. There’s a lot at stake for our communities right now and it’s critical we bring to the forefront how coronavirus is perpetuating racial inequality and health disparities,” Harris tweeted on April 10, 2020.

Social media users reacted with backlash online, saying comments like, “this didn’t age well”, and “unburdened by past support of @Diddy”.

Combs, 55, was arrested in September and accused of using drugs, violence and his celebrity status to lure women into having sex at star-studded parties which he called “Freak Offs”, according to US federal prosecutors.

He strongly denies the allegations and is now behind bars awaiting trial.

None of the celebrities who once moved in Coombs’ circles have been implicated in Combs’ alleged crimes, nor accused of any wrongdoing – indeed most have gone to great pains to distance themselves.

But in recent weeks, since many once connected to him have been on the hustings with Ms Harris, American voters have littered Ms Harris’s social media accounts with unanswered questions about her links to the stars who have had their own friendships with the rapper.

When Lopez campaigned for Ms Harris in Las Vegas, Elon Musk later criticised Lopez for backing Ms Harris, claiming he was weary of Lopez’s choice of candidate because of her silence about her alleged ex-boyfriend, P Diddy.

Lopez was in a relationship with Diddy between 1999 and 2001. There is no suggestion she knew about his alleged crimes. She has not released a statement about his arrest.

“How many people did she warn against Diddy, right? Oh, zero, okay. Maybe we shouldn’t trust her opinion,” Musk said to Rogan.

While campaigning for Ms Harris, Lopez became emotional responding to a pro-Trump comedian who called Puerto Rico – where her parents are from – a “floating island of garbage”.

“It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day, OK? It was every Latino in this country,” she told the crowd.

Social media users questioned her appearance, saying: “Why didn’t you warn people about Diddy all these years”, and “Bro they are diddy party (Beyonce endorsed Kamala Harris) TRUMP 2024!!!!”

When Beyonce appeared at a rally in Houston, telling the roaring crowd: “For all the men and women in this room and watching around the country, we need you”, social media users were divided, with some alleging, “They came straight from a P Diddy party”, and “Chronicles of Diddy”.

Leonardo DiCaprio, who went to P Diddy’s ‘white parties’, has also been vocal in his support for Ms Harris, sharing an Instagram video on Friday to tell fans he would support the Democrats because Donald Trump “continues to deny the facts” about climate change.

“That’s why I’m voting for Kamala Harris,” he said.

In October, Usher, who also went to his ‘white parties’, appeared at a rally for Ms Harris in Atlanta, telling the crowd “she fights for everyone’s rights, for freedom, and it doesn’t matter where you from”.
