US Election Live: Donald Trump and Kamala Harris face off in battleground with duelling rallies

Donald Trump has taken centre stage calling for an end to the “migrant invasion” and a time for “liberation day” as he attacked Kamala Harris and her ability to lead America.

WSJ Opinion: How Democrats Made a Trump Comeback Possible

Donald Trump has launched a blistering attack on Kamala Harris, describing her as “crazy”, someone who “cracks under pressure”, and suggested she quit before election day.

With political heat reaching a boil ahead of November 5, Mr Trump rallied in Milwaukee at the same time as Ms Harris to secure the swing state’s critical 10 electoral college votes.

The Vice President pulled out more star power at her rally with rapper Cardi B.

“Is there a chance she would resign before the election? Three days?” Mr Trump asked. He also claimed that Ms Harris looked “rattled.”

“I actually think they should have left Joe (Biden), he would have done just as well, maybe better,” Mr Trump said.

Trump emphatically vowed to serve the American people, saying “I fight for you with every breath in my body”, and called on Republican voters to “swamp them (Democrats) with the vote”.

Ms Harris also raised the possibility of Mr Trump winning next week at her rally, getting a rise out of the crowd. She stopped herself, quickly adding, “He will not.”

Cardi B, who called Mr Harris an “underdog”, admitted to the crowd she was not planning to vote.

Ms Harris told the crowd: “We know who Donald Trump is. This is not someone who is thinking about how to make your life better. This is someone who is increasingly unstable, obsessed with revenge, he is consumed with grievance and the man is out for unchecked power.”

What polls can - and can't - tell us about US presidential race

Mr Trump defended his policies, saying he does think women like him.

It came after Ms Harris’ running mate Tim Walz suffered a gaffe when he bizarrely called Elon Musk “gay.”

While polls suggest the race remains neck-and-neck, one of the Vice President’s top aides boasted undecided voters in battleground states were heavily breaking in her favour, a day after Mr Trump’s pollster declared “victory is within our reach”.

The jockeying came as both candidates blitzed Michigan and Wisconsin with four days to go, engaging in a furious war of words over Mr Trump’s call for Ms Harris’s top Republican surrogate Liz Cheney to face “nine barrels shooting at her” on a battlefield.

That prompted Arizona’s Democratic attorney general to investigate the former president for issuing a death threat, but Mr Trump doubled down in attacking the “war hawk” in a bid to win over Arab American voters who are wavering on Ms Harris over the Middle East conflict.

Other key moments in the campaign today include:

■ Tim Walz referred to Elon Musk as ‘that gay guy’.

■ Kamala Harris has been endorsed by Cardi B.

■ Liz Cheney slammed ‘tyrant’ Trump for his anti-war rhetoric

■ Joe Biden went into damage control after weak job growth delivered a blow to the Harris campaign

■ The swing state of Georgia warned of Russian election interference

■ Donald Trump sued CBS News seeking $10 billion in damages over its edit of Kamala Harris’ 60 Minutes interview

■ Election guru Nate Silver claimed cheating pollsters were putting their “f***ing finger on the scale”.
