A smiling Prince Louis has been photographed being pushed in a wheelbarrow by his mother, the Princess of Wales for his fifth birthday.
The photograph shows the young prince wearing a blue woolly jumper, shirt and blue shorts while sitting on top of leaves and grass and holding on to the wheelbarrow, as his mother laughs.
It’s one of two pictures taken by photographer Millie Pilkington earlier this month on the Windsor Estate which have been released to mark Louis turning five on Sunday.
Images released for Louis’ birthday last year showed him playing in the sand while wearing a grey sweater with different-coloured stars emblazoned across it.
Photos from prior years showed him riding on his bike before his first day of nursery school for his third birthday, making colourful handprint art for his second birthday and, for his first birthday, flashing a smile for the camera.
‘LOUIS IS LAPPING HIS SIBLINGS’
Meanwhile, body language expert Judi James told Express.co.uk that the young prince was the most fearless of his siblings.
“Louis might be the baby of the family but when it comes to body language signals of confidence, fearlessness and spontaneous playfulness he’s currently lapping his two older siblings,” she said.
“The bonds between George, Charlotte and Louis are clearly strong and the glimpses we’ve had of their behaviours with each other suggest a developing pattern of child/parent mirroring from both George and Charlotte, with Louis benefiting from the best of both worlds.“
“While George is clearly a mini-me version of his dad, Charlotte seems closely paired to her mother in terms of behaviour. This means Louis has two pairs of parental responses and influences in his life.”
Prince Louis’ birthday comes after what would have been his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s 97th birthday. The late monarch died last September at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
His birthday also comes two weeks prior to the coronation of his grandfather King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
The palace has not yet confirmed whether Louis or his older sister Princess Charlotte, 7, will attend the coronation, but their older brother Prince George, 9, will have a special role in the high-profile event.
George will serve as one of four Pages of Honour for Charles at the May 6 coronation at Westminster Abbey. George and his fellow pages are expected to process behind Charles in the ceremony and hold his ceremonial robes.
