King Charles told Prince Harry it ‘wasn’t right’ for Meghan Markle to see Queen Elizabeth

Meghan Markle was not allowed to see the Queen before her death, according to reports, as King Charles addressed the Sussexes in his first speech.

Prince Harry was reportedly told he could not take his wife Meghan Markle to Balmoral to see the Queen before she died.

The young royal cut a lonely figure as he was photographed on his was to the Queen’s Scotland retreat alone, with Meghan staying in London.

Tragically, he arrived too late to say goodbye to the Queen.

Now The Sun reports Prince Charles told his youngest son “it wasn’t right” for Ms Markle to be in Balmoral at such a sad time.

“Charles told Harry that it wasn’t right or appropriate for Meghan to be in Balmoral at such a deeply sad time,” a source said, according to The Sun.

“It was pointed out to him that Kate was not going and that the numbers really should be limited to the very closest family. Charles made it very, very clear Meghan would not be welcome.”

While Ms Markle was first reported to be joining Prince Harry, the couple’s spokesman clarified she would remain in London.

“They have concluded that this isn’t really a moment for Meghan to be there with other close members of the family,” said BBC correspondent Nicholas Witchell.

“Undoubtedly people will speculate about that.

“She might not be terribly warmly welcomed, to be terribly candid.”

Kate Middleton also remained in England to look after Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who had their first full day at school on Thursday.

King Charles III used his first speech as Monarch of the United Kingdom to make a public display of affection to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Despite continued reports of a fracture amid accusations of bullying, the King included the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in his official address to the nation despite their withdrawal as official working members of the Royal family.

“I want to also express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas,” the King said.

Dressed in a dark suit and tie, the King delivered the speech the Blue Drawing Room of Buckingham Palace, where the late Queen recorded several Christmas messages.

Sitting next to a portrait of his mother, the King said Kate would assume the title of Princess of Wales alongside Prince William, Prince of Wales.

“With Catherine beside him, our new Prince and Princess of Wales will, I know, continue to inspire and lead our national conversations, helping to bring the marginal to the centre ground where vital help can be given,” he said.
