Punters around the Territory are pacing and watching the clock as they count down to ‘the race that stops the nation’.

From pubs to clubs, and frog and croc racing to fancy dress, there’s no shortage of choice for this year’s running of the great race.

Both taverns are not content with just horses, as crocs and frogs are also on the race-day schedule.

Berry Springs will be holding their annual croc race – a set of three heats with a champion crowned.

Noonamah will be holding their annual frog race after the cup has run, cheering on 24 ‘local’ frogs as they hop their way down the finish line.

An auction before the race will also gather some coin for Variety NT and the Royal Flying Doctor Service NT.
