The family of a man whose body was found in a stormwater drain say he “was always in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Brock Pavy, 39, was discovered in a drain near Marlboro Road, Swan View in Perth’s east by a member of the public last Thursday.

His family paid tribute to him in a statement, saying he was just shy of his 40th birthday.

“He had a great sense of humour, contagious laugh, but was always in the wrong place at the wrong time,” they said.

“He enjoyed the simple things like fishing, a good T-bone steak, big dogs, comfy tracksuits and having a beer and a smoke.

“No parent should have to bury their child.”

Police are still baffled at how long Mr Pavy had been dead, how long he had been in the drain or how he died.

People are hoping to speak to people who were inside a white Ford Falcon car that was parked on the corner of Morrison and Marlboro Road in Swan View about 2am on Thursday.

Anyone who saw Mr Pavy in the weeks before he was found should also contact Crime Stoppers, along with anyone who was in the area on Thursday or who had video footage.

His death is being treated as suspicious until it could be determined otherwise.
