An onlooker has shared stunning footage of a shark as it cruised Torquay Beach on the Fraser Coast on Tuesday.
Chris Willis was one of many people who spotted the shark from the shore and captured images of the rare sighting.
Its presence did not stop one paddle boarder from enjoying the water, as her images showed.
“I’ve been here 32 years and I’ve never seen one that big so close before,” Chris said.
“Fisheries were down there too.”
Ms Willis said she had watched the rare sight for hours.
The shark was originally believed to be a hammerhead but is now believed to be a mako.
