Two men have been arrested after a terrifying home invasion in Ringwood in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A woman at the Hobart Street property was startled awake by the sound of a window being broken at around 1am, before locking herself in the bathroom after hearing voices from inside the home.

Terrified, she called police from inside the locked bathroom.

The two men, a 20-year-old from Ringwood and 17-year-old from the Bendigo area, were arrested at Ringwood railway station.

It is alleged they left the home with the woman’s Toyota Corolla which was later found crashed into a traffic pole at the intersection of Warrandyte Road and Maroondah Highway.

An officer and his canine partner tracked the men from the crash scene to the railway station.

The alleged offenders are now in the hands of police and will be interviewed by detectives.
