Chapel Street's violent underbelly claims latest victim after fatal stabbing

Two more men are facing charges over an alleged fatal stabbing that killed a father of six on Chapel Street.

Ruka Carlson, 30, died about 1.30am on Easter Sunday after a fight broke out between six people at the popular Prahran precinct.

Mr Carlson, from Mickleham, was rushed to hospital but he died from his injuries.

Police say he knew his attackers, who allegedly stabbed him repeatedly near the Electric nightclub after chasing him down the street.

A 21-year-old Campbellfield man and a 22-year-old Roxburgh park are the latest men to face charges over the alleged stabbing.

Meanwhile, detectives charged the Roxburgh Park man with affray, intentionally causing injury, attempted robbery and failing to provide a PIN code.

Police say the pair’s raft of charges also relate to other alleged crimes, after detectives discovered drugs, ammunition, fireworks and stolen goods in a raid at the Campbellfield man’s property on Thursday.

The Campbellfield man was remanded in custody and was expected to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later on Thursday, while the Roxburgh Park man was bailed and will appear in court on Friday.

It comes after homicide detectives last week charged 20-year-old Samuiela Taholo and Sydney man Hewa Hasan with Mr Carlson’s murder.

It is understood Mr Hassan had links to the “re-launched” Bandidos Melbourne crew.

Those men have been remanded in custody and will return to court in September.
