Scammers attempt to sell false Sam ‘The Punisher’ Abdulrahim murder video

Fraudsters have tried to swindle Aussie media outlets by claiming to sell a video depicting Sam ‘The Punisher’ Abdulrahim’s murder, which actually features the killing of a Swedish gangster.

Shysters have moved to profit from the January ambush murder of gangland figure Sam “The Punisher” Abdulrahim.

They have been trying to sell to media outlets footage purportedly showing Abdulrahim being shot dead in the underground carpark of a Preston apartment complex.

But the Herald Sun has found the video is of the killing of Swedish gangster rapper and songwriter Ninos Moses Khouri – who was more widely known Gaboro.

He was also known for his distinctive look which included hiding his face and identity with a black ski mask and sunglasses.

Confronting video showed Gaboro running for his life before being gunned down in a multi-level car park on December 19 last year.

His murder was one of several gang-linked hits with ties to the Swedish music scene.

In the year before Gaboro’s death, his name had emerged on a “death list” compiled by a rival gang that circulated on Snapchat with the message “everyone on this list will die sooner or later”.

Australian media outlets have been approached in recent weeks by someone claiming that footage was actually a hit man pouncing on Abdulrahim.

The person trying to sell it said it came from a body-worn camera which was on the killer who murdered Abdulrahim underneath the Quest apartment building in Preston, where he had been hiding from underworld figures who had placed a bounty on his life.

Underworld sources said it was extremely unlikely a contract killer would film their work, in any case.

“Definitely bullshit,” one said.

The January 28 murder of Abdulrahim remains unsolved.

His killers opened fire on him as he walked to his car with his girlfriend moments before a white Porsche was captured on CCTV speeding away from the murder scene on High St.

Abdulrahim had for years been dodging bullets as an array of dangerous enemies closed in on him.

In the wake of his death, the Herald Sun obtained footage of a chilling phone call between Abdulrahim and exiled crime boss Kazem “Kaz” Hamad.

Abdulrahim can be heard joking and taunting Hamad about the failed attempts on his own life.

“Hey, I’m still alive brother. Eight shots later and I’m still alive,” Abdulrahim told Hamad.

Hamad, believed to be speaking to Abdulrahim over the phone from Dubai, replied: “You’re lucky. Luck, luck, luck”.

Abdulrahim was referring to another previous attempt on his life at his cousin’s funeral in June 2022, where several assailants infiltrated the service to track the 32-year-old’s movements before shooting him eight times, including in the chest.

In May last year, he was lucky to survive when 17 shots were fired at him as he left his Thomastown home in response to his parents’ vehicles being set alight in another suburb.
