Man arrested over alleged stabbing in Wangaratta

Police have arrested a man after a heated dispute ended with a man allegedly being stabbed at a property in regional Victoria.

A man has been arrested over an alleged stabbing outside a property in regional Victoria.

Two men were engaged in a heated dispute that allegedly took a violent turn outside an address on Irving St in Wangaratta about 10.15pm on Friday.

Following the affray a 37-year-old man was flown to hospital with multiple stab wounds.

His alleged attacker, an 18-year-old Wangaratta man was arrested nearby.

He has been taken into custody to be interviewed by detectives.

Police believe the two men are known to each other.
