Former CFMEU boss John Setka has launched an attack on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, describing him as “weak as piss”.

Speaking on the Neil Mitchell Asks Why podcast, released on Tuesday, Setka accused Mr Albanese of telling “porky pies” about him in the past.

“To me he’s weak. I know he’s weak,” Setka said on the podcast.

“He’s weak as piss to be quite honest. I had an incident with him, which I’m not going to go into, and let me tell you I would not want to be in the trenches with Albo. If we were in a war he’d be the last person I’d want in my foxhole with me.”

The ongoing feud between Setka and the Prime Minister follows a story Setka shared on Channel 7’s Spotlight program last year about an incident in a lift that left Mr Albanese “scared”.

While Setka refused to reveal what happened in the lift, he said it was a “very brief conversation” and he didn’t say anything “intimidating” to Mr Albanese.

Setka resigned from the militant CFMEU in July last year before the union’s Victorian branch was placed into administration.

On the Neil Mitchell Asks Why podcast, Setka described the Albanese government’s treatment of the CFMEU as a “factional hit job”.

Setka said he would never forgive Mr Albanese and wouldn’t vote Labor at the upcoming federal election.

He added that he “certainly” wouldn’t be voting for Peter Dutton.

Asked whether he would vote Greens he said “there are a lot of good people in the Greens”.

Setka also revealed on the podcast he and his wife Emma Walters were still together and were living together “off and on”.

“We’re transitioning,” he said.

“We’ve been back together, backwards and forwards a bit but it’s the pressures of the whole job of being secretary of the union. It puts a lot of pressure on you and it puts pressure on your family also and a lot of pressure was put on her.”
