Hawthorn livewire Jack Ginnivan didn’t envisage “runway model” landing on his 2025 bingo card but he’s accepting the challenge.

Ginnivan is walking in Saturday night’s Block Party Runway x Melbourne Every Bit Different event, which will showcase the AFL’s collaboration with Melbourne streetwear label HoMie.

The Melbourne Fashion Festival catwalk will feature the likes of Bulldogs star Cody Weightman, North Melbourne’s Jy Simpkin, and AFLW stars Tayla Harris and Emma O’Driscoll.

“Relaxed, vintage and understated’’ is how Ginnivan describes his style.

“I’ll just have a bit of fun with it,” he said.

“Won’t be taking myself too seriously. I love fashion and doing stuff that’s a bit different so this will be a unique experience.”

Ginnivan is set for another strong season, and will play in Friday night’s season opener against Sydney.

Two other matches have been postponed due to the Queensland cyclone.

Weightman, who is out injured, said the catwalk was “something different”.

“It will be great fun – normally we’re on the grass but will trade that in for a bit

of carpet,’’ he said. “The knits are a really cool initiative –

HoMie do great work in the community and the knits look awesome. I’m really impressed by what they’ve done.”

Harris said the runway spot was highly sought after.

“It’s something as athletes perhaps we wouldn’t have considered as an opportunity before, and I feel all the players involved are excited for this opportunity,’’ she said. “I love that they’re team colours but not in your face. You can be a footy fan or not and wear them.”

Alongside HoMie x AFL, the runway will feature top emerging Australian designers including Fool, Gammin Threads, Gotham, House of Campbell, Lucinda Babi, Nixi Killick, Reigner and Wah-Wah.
