A man who was violently assaulted outside a McDonalds in Melbourne’s CBD has been left fighting for life with severe injuries, while another man is on the run.

Grave concerns are held for a man who was violently assaulted outside a McDonalds in Melbourne’s CBD on Wednesday night.
Sources close to the incident say it was feared the man would not survive his injuries.
Officers at the Elizabeth St scene were told a fight broke out between two men at about 6.30pm, leaving one with life-threatening injuries.
The other man fled on foot and remains on the run.
A Victoria Police spokesperson confirmed the investigation is ongoing.
A section of Elizabeth St near the tram stop was cordoned off for several hours following the assault with city-goers watched on as police investigated the scene late into the night.
Clothes and other paraphernalia could be seen strewn on the floor outside the McDonalds on Thursday.
