Students at a Richmond school have been banned from using a main entrance to avoid seeing a deceased body this morning.
Several sources have confirmed to the Herald Sun that the body was found outside the Richmond West Primary school on Thursday morning, which is located near the safe injecting room.
The death is believed to be drug related.
Police confirmed the body of a yet to be identified man was located on Lennox Street, Richmond about 6.50am.
“At this stage the death is not being treated as suspicious and police will prepare a report for the coroner,” a spokesman said.
Furious school parents say they have had enough of the detrimental effect the injecting room has had on the school.
Since Friday the school has twice been forced into lockdown, with a man arrested on the school grounds on Wednesday.
When locked down the students are literally locked in their classrooms.
“My children have seen things no child should ever have to see,” one parent said.
