Two men have been charged after police found more than 17kg of cannabis at two properties in Alice Springs.
NT Police charged the males, aged 38 and 47, for the possession of cannabis and a small amount of methamphetamine after executing two search warrants at residences in Gillen and Connellan.
Detective Senior Constable Tim Healey said the men were arrested following an ongoing investigation into the supply of cannabis in the community.
“If sold in the community this cannabis haul could fetch up to $850,000,” he said.
“Police will allege the pair were involved in syndicate that transported cannabis from South Australia to Alice Springs.”
They were charged with multiple drug offences including possession and supply of a commercial quantity of a schedule two drug.
They will appear in Alice Springs local court today.
