More than 500 women decked out in sparkles and friendship bracelets will be flocking to Flinders street on Friday night for the ultimate ladies night that can still have you in bed before 11pm.

Lise Carlaw and Sarah Wills have been touring cities around the country with their ‘Disco Club’ since 2022, after cultivating the idea of their perfect night out.

“As you progress through life those opportunities to cut loose on the dancefloor with your friends sort of dry up,” Ms Wills said.

“We came up with this dream night … and thought why don’t we just tell other women?”

Characterised by the 10pm finish, free-for-all dress code and hit songs from the 80s, 90s and 2000s, the pair said the positive feedback had been overwhelming.

“There’s women who are using it as a wonderful catch up with their girlfriends and it’s fun and then there are women who come here and they don’t even realise that it touches something within themselves that they haven’t felt for a long time,” Ms Carlow said.

“There are a lot of women in their midlife, maybe they’ve gotten divorced, they’ve maybe had sickness, maybe they’ve gone through chemo, or suddenly their kids have left home and they’re kind of rediscovering who they are.

“When we play these songs that are from their youth it just triggers something within them.”

The duo said that the event feels like the “ultimate women’s bathroom” with all partygoers aged 18 and above welcoming each other for a wholesome experience.

“We think that magic happens when women get together in a room and forget what’s going on in their lives for three to four hours,” Ms Carlow said.

Townsville will be their first ever regional party, with around 550 tickets already sold, with around 100 still up for grabs for the FLNDRS HQ event. .

Kellie Stephenson will also be hosting a pre-disco long lunch at Buzuka bar ahead of the event with tickets still available.
