A popular Townsville skate shop has been hit by a second brazen ram raid in just a week, leaving owners and locals frustrated as police search for those responsible.
Cre8ive Sk8, on Ross River Road in Aitkenvale, was the target of an early morning attack around 2.55am on Monday, December 2.
A black Isuzu MUX stolen form Bushland Beach was used to smash through the front window of the store.
Despite the dramatic damage, the thieves walked away empty-handed, with the shop emptied of valuable items ahead of its relocation to 15-17 Hammett Street.
Just 20 minutes later, at 3.15am, another business on Ingham Road, Garbutt, was ramraided.
The same stolen vehicle was later found dumped in South Townsville, where the offenders reportedly tried to sink it in the marina.
For Cre8ive Sk8, this isn’t the first time. Only a week ago, on Tuesday, November 26, CCTV captured a stolen Toyota Prado crashing into the store, with thieves making off with scooters.
Co-owner Nick Wilson took to social media, expressing both frustration and relief: “We got ram raided again at the old shop,” he said.
“Luckily there was nothing of value left. We will be still opening at the new shop but we will have to push back all scooter repairs a day while we deal with this.
“Apologies to everyone who is waiting for their scooters to be fixed.”
Anyone with any information, including CCTV or dashcam is urged to contact police.
