A man charged with the death of a mother-of-three will have his case scheduled to return in the New Year after a large amount of evidence remained outstanding. Here’s the latest.

The case involving a man who has been charged with the death of his ex will have the alleged offence return to court in the New Year.
Benjamin Matthew Kennedy was charged with murder in a domestic violent setting following the death of Loyla Morgan earlier this year.
It’s alleged the mother of three died after injuries she sustained at Clump Road on Palm Island.
Police prosecutor Lennon Stathoulis told the court on Tuesday morning that police had obtained more than 40 witness statements, medical records and CCTV footage however there was still a large amount of material outstanding.
Scenes of crime statements, an autopsy report and forensic data were still missing from the file including DNA evidence which was said to take up to three months to receive.
Defence lawyer Mikayla Ward from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Legal Services asked for a long adjournment to give time to receive the material.
Mr Kennedy has also been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and possessing drugs.
No pleas have been entered for any charges.
Magistrate Richard Lehmann adjourned the charge to January 17, 2025 in Townsville Magistrates Court.
