Townsville crime: Violent break-in leaves Kirwan man in hospital

A 61-year-old man has been rushed to hospital with head injuries after a female intruder allegedly attacked him during a violent break-in at Kirwan.

A 61-year-old man was rushed to hospital with head injuries after a female intruder allegedly attacked him during a break in at Kirwan.

Police have charged a 28-year-old woman following a break and enter at a Kirwan property just before 5am on Sunday.

It will be alleged the woman gained entry to a President Street unit and confronted a 61-year-old male resident and assaulted him.

Paramedics transported the man with head and arm injuries to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.

The 28-year-old Kirwan woman has been charged with one count of each enter dwelling with intent by break and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

She’s scheduled to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Monday, November 6.
