Mount Low bus crash
Three people have been taken to hospital after a bus full of school students and a car crashed in Mount Low.
Emergency services responded to a two-vehicle crash involving a school bus and car at the intersection of Mount Low Parkway and North Shore Boulevard at 8.04am on Tuesday.
Initial reports suggest that none of the primary and high school students on board the bus sustained any injuries during the crash.
Paramedics attended to three stable patients from the car and subsequently transported them to Townsville University Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Police were on the scene to direct traffic while the wreckage was being cleared.
Cane knife used in terrifying armed robbery
Two armed robbers are on the run after threatening a service station worker with a cane knife during a chilling encounter in Thuringowa Central.
Police from the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) were called to an armed robbery at the Liberty service station on Riverway Dr at about 3.35am on Tuesday.
Initial investigations suggest two male offenders — one armed with a cane knife — approached and threatened a male staffer before fleeing with a quantity of cash and cigarettes.
The male victim was not injured during the incident.
Investigations are ongoing.
