It’s official, PB & Js Donuts is the best in Townsville – and the hundreds of people lining up around the block on International Donut Day were just the proof in the, uhh … doughnut?

Ahead of the delicious day, the Townsville Bulletin asked readers who sold the most delectable doughnut in town – and while runner-up Galactic Donuts secured more than 110 votes, it was PB & Js that secured the most support at 140 votes.

The business that specialises in baked goods, including donuts and cakes, put on an array of special treats for International Donut Day, including pavlova and creme brulee flavours.

Jack Delgado, who waited in line for about 40-45 minutes on Friday for a doughnut, said it was the best quality you could get in Townsville.

“I went (on Friday) because I saw a bunch of their posts on Instagram and they had voted about what people wanted to see, because they were bringing back a lot of old flavours,” he said.

The 23-year-old said added that he had waited in line specifically for the Dubai Chocolate and creme brulee donuts.

“The creme brulee were all gone by the time I got there, but I got the last Dubai Chocolate doughnut,” he said.

“We got two donuts, a cob loaf, and two drinks in the end.”
