Search for Regan Dempsey continues two days after he failed to emerge from river

Police are appealing for information regarding a North Queensland mans whereabouts after he entered a river two days ago and never emerged. Read the details.

A search for a North Queensland man has resumed today after he failed to emerge from a river on Thursday.

Mount Isa police, state emergency service (SES) and the Queensland Fire department continued the search for Regan Dempsey on Saturday.

It was reported that the 28-year-old man entered the Leichhardt River near Burke Street in the Mount Isa suburb of Mornington on November 28 at 7pm and failed to exit.

An initial land search was conducted at Burke street and the surrounding areas.

Mr Dempsey is described as a First Nations man, approximately 178cm tall with a slim build, dark hair and dark eyes.

Police are now appealing to the man or anyone who has any information regarding his whereabouts come forward.
