A person has been taken to hospital with burns after a car fire along a busy road in Aitkenvale this morning. Watch the video.

A person has been taken to hospital with burns after a car fire along a busy road in Aitkenvale this morning.

Paramedics transported a stable patient to Townsville University Hospital burns to both legs following a vehicle fire on Ross River Road, Aitkenvale at 7.31am on Thursday.

Police confirmed they also attended the scene and Queensland Fire Department had extinguished the fire shortly after.

Police said the vehicle was not stolen.
