A Burdekin man charged with sexually assaulting women at a massage business can finally be named after his matter appeared in an Ayr court.

A Burdekin man charged with sexually assaulting women at a massage business can finally be named after his matter appeared in an Ayr court.

Alexander Douglas Stace, 54, is facing five counts of sexual assault.

His matter appeared for the first time in Ayr Magistrates Court on March 24, where he was represented by Anderson Telford Lawyers.

Mr Stace’s legal team requested his matter be adjourned to June 9.

Mr Stace was arrested by police in relation to several alleged incidents involving a woman in her 40s in January, and a woman in her 20s in February.

Police alleged the incidents occurred at a massage business between July 2024 and February 2025.

The second victim came forward to police after a public appeal was made by the Ayr Criminal Investigations Branch Officer in Charge, Detective Sergeant Lisa Shields.

“Following the original charges and public appeal, police have been contacted by a number of people, and a further charge has been laid,” Detective Sergeant Shields said.

“We are re-appealing for community members who may have been a victim of a similar incident at a massage business in the Burdekin to come forward, or anyone who may have witnessed concerning behaviour to contact police.”
