Most stylish racegoers photographed at Melbourne Cup, Derby Day functions

It was up-market ‘vintage chic’ and classic sophistication at The Ville Resort-Casino’s popular Melbourne Cup function, while Derby Day was held at Townsville’s Flinders Lane. Check out our full gallery.

It was up-market ‘vintage chic’ and classic sophistication when The Ville Resort-Casino hosted one of the city’s most poplar Melbourne Cup functions at The Pavilion.

The Ville’s November 5 event stepped back into yesteryear with period styling of candy stripes, cute bows, classic pearls and cute spring blooms.

But it was not always eyes on the Melbourne Cup races on the big screens, The Pavilion guests were treated to a delectable range of cuisine and cocktails.

There were a range of delicious canapes, interactive cooking stations, live entertainment, and showstopping cocktails.

After the horses crossed the finish line, the after-party kicked in on the grass.

Meanwhile, Derby Day was held in style at Townsville’s Flinders Lane, with proceeds supporting charity Fuel for Schools.

Kellie Stephenson, from Support Local with Kellie, hosted the fucntion alongside the Flinders Lane team, City Lane, Magnetic Motors, Gallivanter Travel and Donohues.

“It was a collaborative event activating this amazing CBD space,” she said. “Jewellery By Design donated a Diamond Bracelet worth $4995 and we were able to raise a total of $13,000 for local charity Fuel For Schools.”

With almost 250 people in attendance, there was plenty to keep guests entertained including various activations including a Donohues Hat Bar, Empire Alternarcade Pin Ball Machines, Heritage Exchange Distillery Co tastings, 360 Photo Booth and Carts & Co Gelato Bar.

The food was from City Lane vendors Polola, The TapHouse, Sakana, and Shaw & Co, and the music from Brothas Entertainment.

“This event was truly a remarkable way to work collaboratively to provide an experience like no other, and will be a signature event in the Townsville Calendar for years to come.”
