A 73-year-old man has died and a woman is still fighting for life in hospital after a devastating two-car crash near Ingham yesterday. UPDATE.

Police have confirmed that a man has died in a fatal car crash in Hinchinbrook on Thursday.
The man, 73, was from Ingham, Queensland Police Service said on Friday.
The Forensic Crash Unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the two-vehicle traffic crash on the Ingham-Forrest Beach Rd at Victoria Plantation.
“At about 11:40am, a silver Hyundai Tucson and a grey Mazda CX-5 collided on Ingham Forrest Beach Road,” a QPS spokesperson said.
“The driver and sole occupant of the Mazda CX-5, a 73-year-old Ingham man, was declared deceased at the scene.”
The driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai Tucson, a 76-year-old Forrest Beach woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
She was listed as being in a serious but stable condition on Friday.
QPS are appealing to anyone with information or vision of the fatal crash to contact police.
UPDATE, Friday, April 4:
The woman seriously injured in the Forrest Rd crash remains in Townsville University Hospital.
It has been revealed she is actually in her 70s, and was airlifted from the crash site with life-threatening injuries.
She is currently in a stable condition.

There are grave fears for the life of a man in a horror two-car crash on a rural North Queensland road.
Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed that a second victim, a woman in her 60s, had been flown to Townsville University Hospital with “potentially life-threatening injuries” following the smash on Forrest Beach Road, Braemeadows, at 11.46am on Thursday.
The road links the Hinchinbrook towns of Ingham and Forrest Beach.
The road remained closed at 2.45am although diversions are in place.
A Queensland Police Service Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) has arrived on scene and is investigating.
A condition of the first victim, confirmed as male, is yet to be released.
QPS have been contacted for comment.
EARLIER: Woman trapped, man with life threatening injuries
Emergency services, including the rescue helicopter have raced to the scene of a serious head-on collision near Ingham on Thursday morning.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a two vehicle crash was reported at 11.46am on Ingham Forrest Beach Rd, Braemeadows – east of Ingham.
She said a female patient was trapped in one of the vehicles and a man had suffered life threatening injuries.
The QGAir rescue helicopter touched down at the scene to render assistance and transport the man once he was stabilised.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman confirmed that two people received medical treatment at the scene.
She said there were diversions in place at Four Mile Rd and Sunny Bank Rd, with motorists advised to avoid the area.
Police investigations are continuing.
