The man involved in the home hill crash was transported to hospital with injuries after his leg got caught in the wreck. Read the details.

A man has suffered leg and head injuries after his car struck a pole outside of Home Hill on Saturday morning.

Queensland Emergency services attended the scene of a single vehicle crash on Kirknie road just before 6am.

The male driver was trapped in the wreck with his leg significantly stuck.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said that it was a “difficult extraction” to safely remove the patient.

The man was transported to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition with minor head injuries and wounds to his leg.

The road was closed until lunchtime.
