Kyle and Deanna Feldt welcome birth of son Marlo

Cowboys legend Kyle Feldt and his wife Deanna have welcomed the arrival of their second child, Marlo John Feldt.

A soon to be Cowboy’s life member has taken to social media to announce the arrival of his second child, with thousands flocking to congratulate him on his new baby boy.

Kyle Feldt and his wife Deanna shared a post to Instagram announcing the birth of Marlo John Feldt who was born on Sunday April 21 at 8:36am weighing a healthy 7.5lbs.

The post read “Mum and bub are doing well and he has one very smitten big sister.”

The photo shared to Instagram showed Mr and Mrs Feldt holding baby Marlo alongside their first born daughter Macie Maree Eva Feldt who was born in 2022.

Fellow teammates such as Chad Townsend, Murray Taulagi and Zac Laybutt sent their congratulations in the comments alongside local celebrities such as radio host Kate Jeboult and artist Emily Ingham.

Feldt has had many reasons to celebrate recently after he became the number one try scorer in Cowboys history after putting the ball down for his 131st try against the Titans a little over two weeks ago.

“It has been a whirlwind 48 hours or 72 hours, it came around quicker than we expected,” Feldt said.

“My wife gave birth to our little son Marlo on Sunday at 6:36 in the morning before the game so i woke up to a phone call at seven o’clock saying that she’s going into labour and she’s given birth so a lot of emotions on that day obviously with the game at four and him being born in the morning.

“I was a bit of an emotional wreck in the morning and then had to go wrap my head around playing a game and then as soon as I finished I legged it off the field.

“I ended up getting home at 10:30 at night and got to meet my son which was pretty cool.”

Feldt said that even though his son won’t remember the milestone game this weekend, it will hold a special place in his own heart.

“It’s going to be a good moment not only for me but for my family and obviously he won’t remember it but I know I will and that I will have pictures to show him that his dad was actually a pretty handy footy player back in the day,” he said.

“It’s going to be fun, I’m going to really look back at it and think I’m very glad that he was around to see it.”

He will become the 13th North Queensland life member this weekend in the Anzac match against the Panthers at Queensland Country Bank stadium.
