Known for her luscious locks, a Townsville woman has launched her own hair care brand featuring oils she spent a decade perfecting and accessories all the way from France.

Wife of Cowboys star Sam McIntyre, Kenza McIntyre’s personal brand is centred around her beautiful hair, and after receiving questions from friends and family about her secret to a healthy scalp she decided to bottle her successful formula, and launch it as the first product for her brand Laffrey.

“I always get asked what I do for my hair, and I never really thought that I should market it, but my husband Sam (McIntyre) actually pushed me to do it about two years ago,” Mrs McIntyre said.

“I partnered with a trichologist and a chemist to make sure that the formulas were on point for market, so we kind of perfected the ones that I’ve been making at home for myself.”

Her passion for hair care stems from a dream of having long hair as a young girl but after finding a lack of effective products on the market that used clean ingredients, she took matters into her own hands.

The business, named after one of her favourite childhood locations, a beautiful lake in southeastern France, prioritises natural and clean ingredients that still achieve incredible results.

“Not only are we using very quality products and materials, but it’s actually really renewable products and materials,” Mrs McIntyre said.

“It’s a really innovative thing, and there’s actually no other brushes on the market in Australia right now that are similar to our brushes, and the reason is because we actually use 60 per cent of renewable materials in them.”

Her products include the Growth scalp oil, The Gloss hair oil alongside French made accessories such as brushes, hair clips, combs and scrunchies.

“The scalp oil is actually a hair growth oil which works really well for scalps with issues such as dryness,” she said.

“I actually have a lot of friends with psoriasis on the scalp that have used it and have said that they don’t have any psoriasis left at all from that oil.”

Laffrey products include French manufactured hair combs and clips, and Australian made scalp and hair oils.

“It moisturises the scalp and stimulates the follicles so that your hair grows a lot faster

Mrs McIntyre said that the future goal of her business is to be a one-stop shop for all hair care products.

“We have a five-year plan, so in the end, we’ll have everything that people need for their hair care ritual,” she said.
