The Cure Starts Now’s annual Charity Golf Day for the cure was in memory of former Member for Herbert Ewen Jones to commemorate one year since his passing.
The Cure Starts Now Australia’s CEO Eleni Millios-Hullick said as a friend of the foundation and so many within the city, Ewen Jones gave his time tirelessly to many charities over the years.
“His sharp wit and joyous persona always made everyone dig a little deeper and give a little more, all the while laughing until we cried,” Eleni said. “As a larger than life character he helped us all raise money for charities and causes throughout our city and never said no when asked to lend a hand for the greater good.
“Therefore, this year, all money raised for The Cure Starts Now Australia at the Cure Golf Day will be matched by a private donor and given to his family to make a donation to research, in his memory.”
