The Strand will explode with colour this Saturday as the Festival of The Wind takes to the sky from 11am to 8pm.
At the free event families can enjoy kites, wrestling, food trucks, a ferris wheel, and more.
Festival organiser Vanessa Pearson said the kites will bring an “explosion of colour” to the beach.
Festival of the Wind is normally held in Pallarenda, but it’s move to The Strand Park has opened up a lot more car parks for attendees.

“It’s such an eye-catching event, you have to see it to believe it,” Ms Pearson said.
“My favourite time to watch the kites is at sunset so I always recommend 3pm as the best time to visit … it’s a masterpiece on the beach.”
Festival attendees can bring their own kites, or make their own kites at a ‘wing creation station’.
The event will feature 30 food trucks serving up lunch, dinners, and snacks, and childrens' entertainer ‘Andy Dexterity’ – of The Wiggles and The Voice fame.
WHEN: Saturday, June 21, 11am – 8pm.
WHERE: Strand Park, following the big kites.
