NRL star Luciano Leilua has faced court after being charged with low-range drink driving.
The North Queensland Cowboy appeared in Townsville Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with drink driving over the general alcohol limit.
On January 21, the Cowboys star was stopped by police on Thuringowa Drive, Thuringowa Central at 12.35am.
Leilua recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.052 – just above the legal limit.
The second rower pleaded guilty and was issued a $300 fine and a one-month driving suspension.
“The Cowboys will continue to work with the NRL Integrity Unit on the matter and will make further comment once those discussions are complete,” a statement from the club said.
