The NQ Cowboys have made a surprise visit to Townsville University Hospital’s family room to spread cheer ahead of Saturday’s home clash with the Sea Eagles.
Murray Taulagi and Tom Mikaele joined the children on Wednesday morning, as part of the Cowboys in Capes program.
The visit is Taulagi’s first since he took on a role as the official Cowboys in Capes ambassador, and he said it “means a lot” to help the children.
“Cowboys in Capes, we come visit kids in hospital that really need it the most,” Taulagi said.
“Anytime I get the chance to come here, see the sick kids and try and put a smile on their faces I’ll happily do so.
“It’s rewarding for me, I love seeing the kids smiling.”
Ronald McDonald House northern Australia marketing executive Amy Battese said visits help the children feel “normal, yet special.”
“We’re so grateful to the Cowboys in Capes for coming here today,” she said.
“It really brings a bit of magic and a bit of light to the kids that are here, and to their extended families.”
The visit comes after it was recently announced the NQ Cowboys would travel to Las Vegas in 2026 for a clash with the Knights, though Taulagi laughed off suggestions he might be planning a vegas wedding between himelf and fiance Claudia Schroder after popping the question last year.
