Bruce Highway accident: Road open after traffic smash at Cromarty

The Bruce Highway has been reopened after a nasty traffic crash about 40 kilometres south of Townsville left five people, including children, injured.
Initial reports were that the highway was fully blocked at the scene of the two-vehicle accident on or near the Margaret Creek Bridge at Cromarty about 12.25pm.
Queensland Police Service confirmed the highway was open to “slow-moving traffic” as of 1.36pm.
Queensland Ambulance Service said five people had been injured in the accident.
A QAS spokesman said two adults were transported to Ayr Hospital and three patients, including children, taken to Townsville University Hospital.
All of the injured were in stable conditions, he said.
