A local reality television legend, a diving board for dogs and an opportunity to trade in your old, busted sprinklers for a new, modern one are all some of the attractions at Townsville’s premier community event.

Held every second year, Our Townsville will celebrate the vibrant and adventurous lifestyle of North Queensland with over 200 stall holders, workshops, with interactive spaces, outdoor activities, live entertainment, kids activities, storytelling, and four “grub hubs” to keep bellies full.

While the majority of the stalls focus on wellbeing and the community, there are also plenty catering towards the environment, animals, safety, heritage, culture, reef, environment, and our lawns, on the Sunday.

One of the highlights will be the return of DockDogs and K9 Superwall where dogs of all shapes and sizes will launch off a dock into a custom-built pool, and test their climbing skills by scaling a vertical wall.

Residents keen to conserve water are urged to bring in their old sprinklers to the council’s Sprinkler Swap to swap for a brand-new water-efficient Wobble-Tee sprinkler, which uses less than half the water of a traditional sprinkler and covers more than double the area.

The steaks will be high in the Grill Yard for the Backyard BBQ Battle, where head-to-head cook-off will pit everyday barbecue lovers against each other in a chance to show off their skills in front of a live crowd, with all meats, rubs and barbecue equipment is supplied.

MasterChef finalist Rhiannon Anderson will also be there whipping up Indian-marinated chicken pita, Mexican fish tacos with pineapple salsa, and a perfectly cooked steak with spicy chimichurri on a yoghurt flatbread.

Townsville Acting Mayor Ann-Maree Greaney said Our Townsville was a highlight on the city’s events calendar.

“This year’s event includes live cooking demonstrations, the return of DockDogs, live entertainment from Townsville’s many cultural groups, and so much more,” Ms Greaney said.

“I’m personally looking forward to seeing the pets dressed up for the Pet Mardi Gras and the performances on the Global Rhythms Stage. Our Townsville is not to be missed, so grab your friends and family and head down for a great day celebrating the best of our city.”

Some big prizes will be up for grabs, including the chance to win one year of free parking in the Townsville local government area, by entering at the councillors’ stall.

Excited stall holder and real estate agent for Belle Property Townsville, Natalia Moore, was looking forward to Our Townsville, where she will launch her List. Sell. Win! competition – offering one lucky seller the chance to win back their entire commission when they list with her before 31st July.

“This is my way of saying thank you to a community that’s embraced me. Real estate is deeply personal — it’s about wellbeing, financial freedom, and a fresh start,” Ms Moore said.

“If I can help someone take that next step and also win big, that’s something worth celebrating.”
