A HOLE in the ground in Larrakeyah which has been languishing for years to the dismay of nearby residents has finally been given residential development plans.
Northern Planning Consul-tants have applied for an application at 1-2 Montoro Ct and 7-8 Packard Pl in Larrakeyah, where three large towers will be redeveloped on the site of the old Asti Motel.
The application will see 140 apartments, comprising one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom dwellings with the tallest tower to reach 13 stories and to include a three-level basement carpark.

Northern Planning Consul-tants managing director Brad Cunnington said the buildings would be for both residents and tourists to Darwin.
“The proposal at this stage is an even 50/50 split between residential and serviced apart-ments for people to live in for a short period of time,” Mr Cunnington said.
“There will be a restaurant/cafe on the ground floor as well.”
Nearby resident Sam Kansal told the NT News the hole had plagued his rental property but he said it was pleasing to hear the hole may soon be filled.
“Dirt is still coming into our house, our property has been damaged and has not been fixed, the whole wall of our building has been damaged (by debris),” Mr Kansal said.
“It looks like we’re living in a third world country, not Australia.”
Mr Kansal is worried such a large construction site might further impact his property.
“Because we already have so much damage,” he said.
Submissions are open until May 3.
