TERRITORY model Magnolia Maymuru’s appearance as Vogue Australia’s September issue cover girl has already gone down as one of the best received in the magazine’s history.
The proud Yolngu woman from the Gove Peninsula is depicted holding her daughter, Djarraran, in front of a powerful sunrise.
The cover is part of a global initiative symbolising new beginnings across the world celebrating the dawn of a new era through sunrise.
Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Edwina McCann said the cover featuring Maymuru was the one she was most proud of.
